Boucan

Boucan opened in late 2024 on rue Fouré, a few doors down from its sister restaurant Guindaille. At the zinc bar: craft beers, natural wines and house cocktails. On the plate: honest, generous French cuisine, no fuss. In the evenings, the bar takes over. And on Fridays, the counter becomes a dancefloor. No dress code, no guest list. Just the kind of noise that does you good and people who are not ready to go home.

I walked in on a Friday night, on a whim. I was walking past and it looked lively. I went in. No tables left, but there was room at the bar. I ordered a beer, someone asked what I was having. We ended up dancing. I had not planned any of it.
